One of the many ways to use Organic Japanese Matcha is to make chocolate bars! This recipe is very fun and easy because it requires little equipment and ingredients. A little sweet, a little nutty, and a little crunchy makes it a perfect pair for that cup of hot organic loose leaf tea. The chocolate bars are great for parties, gifts, or simply a sweet treat.
- 2 cups dark (or white) chocolate chips
- 1/3 cup shredded raw coconuts
- 1/3 cup chopped cashews
- 1/4 cup Matcha powder
Using a double boiler heat water with medium-low heat.
Melt chocolate chips in double boiler. Using a nonstick spatula, mix the chocolate chips consistently to avoid burning the chocolate.
When chocolate chips are halfway melted, use the spatula to fold in the cashews and coconuts.
Using a sifter or tea strainer to eliminate clumps, add Matcha powder and mix until evenly distributed.
Remove from stove and pour chocolate onto baking tray (lined with parchment paper). Use the spatula again to make sure the chocolate is evenly distributed on tray.
Let cool in refrigerator for two hours or until chocolate hardens.
Remove tray from refrigerator and break chocolate into bars using hand or knife.
Tips: For a stronger Matcha taste, add more Matcha powder or use white chocolate chips. You can also place the melted chocolate in a candy mold.
